Clear the Pattern. Calm the Body. Create space for healing
EFT Tapping for the Patterns Keeping You Stuck
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping) is a powerful technique to support stress, food cravings, emotional patterns and self-regulation — grounded in both ancient wisdom and modern psychology.
You know the feeling: you’re doing everything right. Eating well. Supplementing. Exercising. Trying to rest. But somehow, it’s not landing. You’re still stuck in the same patterns — stress eating, fatigue, low self-worth, overwhelm — wondering what’s missing.
Here’s what no one tells you: If your nervous system doesn’t feel safe, no amount of nutrition or willpower will get you where you want to go.
This is where EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) comes in.
A clinically-informed method that combines acupressure, breathwork, and focused emotional processing to gently release stress, cravings, and subconscious resistance — so your body and mind can finally work with you, not against you.
What is EFT tapping?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a therapeutic method that combines acupressure, somatic awareness, and modern psychology to regulate the nervous system and release stored emotional charge — without needing to retell your life story.
It’s often described as emotional acupuncture without needles.
You gently tap on key meridian points while tuning into an emotional block, craving, belief, or physical symptom. This sends calming signals to the amygdala and helps the body release stress, restore energy flow, and unhook from stuck patterns.
What Happens in an EFT Session?
These sessions are gentle, intuitive, and deeply supportive.
At the beginning of our session together we will spend some time having a chat. You don’t need to explain everything or have the perfect words. We begin exactly where you are — with whatever’s present, pressing, or quietly calling for attention.
Through guided tapping, we create space for emotional tension, cravings, or inner resistance to soften and shift. We invite your nervous system to step out of survival mode. We give your body permission to feel safe again.
Clients often describe a feeling of release — like exhaling a breath they didn’t realise they’d been holding onto. Others feel calmer, clearer, or even surprised by how much emotion was ready to be let go.
You are supported the entire way. This is a safe, non-judgmental space to reconnect with yourself and allow healing to unfold — gently, at your pace.
The Science Behind It
From your manual and current research, here’s what’s happening in the body during EFT:
Lowers cortisol — the primary stress hormone
Activates the parasympathetic nervous system — allowing the body to rest, digest, and heal
Rewires unhelpful thought patterns via neuroplasticity
Engages both hemispheres of the brain through structured tapping, repetition, and rhythm
Moves stuck emotional energy through the body’s meridian system
This isn’t just emotional fluff — it’s grounded in physiological regulation, evidence-informed practice, and decades of application in pain, cravings, stress, and emotional block work.

Session Options
Standalone EFT Session (60 minutes)
Perfect if you're looking to shift something specific — such as a food craving, a reactive pattern, or a persistent emotional block. If you feel stuck let’s move you through it. In saying that, I encourage booking a minimum of three sessions to allow the process to unfold in a meaningful way.
Ongoing Support
For those wanting to go deeper, regular EFT sessions can be scheduled over time to gently unpack emotional patterns and build nervous system resilience. I highly recommend having more than one session to really benefit from EFT. A minimum of three sessions is a great start and then we can work out whats right for you.
Add EFT sessions to Your Naturopathic Plan
If you're already a client, EFT can be booked in addition to your naturopathic consults as part of your treatment plan — especially when we're working on stress, emotional eating, hormonal balance or weight resistance. EFT sessions are included for my Metabolic Balance clients to support them on their journey.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a gentle, hands-on method that combines acupressure with focused emotional processing. It involves tapping on specific meridian points while tuning into a particular thought, feeling, or pattern. The process helps regulate the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity, and bring the body into a state of calm and clarity.
-
EFT is especially helpful for emotional patterns that feel repetitive or hard to shift — such as stress, anxiety, food cravings, body image issues, nervous system overwhelm, emotional eating, or inner resistance to change. It’s also a beautiful support during hormonal transitions or health journeys where deeper emotional work is needed.
-
No. This work is not about revisiting or reliving trauma. You don’t need to share the full story for the session to be effective. EFT gently works with the body’s stress response, helping to clear emotional charge without needing to talk through everything in detail.
-
Yes. One of the reasons I love EFT is because it’s incredibly adaptable. We move at your pace. If you're feeling emotionally tender or unsure, we can work gently and still create meaningful shifts — without pushing or overwhelming your system.
-
Yes — and I encourage it. One of the beautiful aspects of EFT is that it can become a self-regulation tool you return to anytime. I often guide clients to create simple, personalised tapping practices they can use between sessions to support themselves.
-
Each session is unique and responsive to what’s coming up for you. We use guided tapping to calm the nervous system and bring awareness to the emotions or patterns you want to shift. There’s no pressure, no performance — just a gentle, supported space to explore what’s ready to be released.
-
Everyone’s experience is different. Some people feel lighter or more peaceful straight away. Others notice emotional or physical shifts unfolding in the days after. Often, there’s a feeling of space, clarity, or simply relief from the internal pressure you didn’t realise you were holding.
-
EFT is somatic — meaning we work with the body and the nervous system, not just the mind. Rather than analysing why you feel the way you do, we focus on shifting how it feels in the body. This often allows for faster emotional release and nervous system regulation.
-
Yes — and it’s often the missing link. EFT supports emotional regulation and helps remove internal resistance, making your nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle protocols more sustainable and effective.
-
That’s completely okay. Emotions are welcome here — and often a sign that something meaningful is shifting. You’ll be gently supported throughout, and we always move at a pace that feels safe and respectful for you.
With so many emotional healing tools available today, it’s completely natural to feel unsure about where to start. What I love about EFT is its simplicity. It’s gentle, accessible, and remarkably effective — especially when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions I’m asked about EFT. This is a powerful practice, and one that continues to surprise people with how much can shift in such a short space of time.
-
This depends on your goals and individual needs:
Some people feel benefits after just one session, but I do find most people need at least 3
A series of sessions (weekly or biweekly) is recommended for long-term healing.
Ongoing EFT can be a great tool for maintenance and energy balancing.
-
No. EFT isn’t about belief — it’s about biology. The technique works by calming the brain’s fear response and restoring safety in the nervous system. You don’t need to be “spiritual” or even convinced. Just open enough to give it a try.
-
No, EFT is a complementary therapy, meaning it works alongside medical and psychological treatments, but it does not replace them. Many people use EFT to move through emotional blocks while continuing conventional healthcare treatments.
-
Yes. While it may look simple, EFT has growing clinical evidence behind it — including studies showing reductions in cortisol (the stress hormone), improvements in anxiety, depression, pain, cravings, and PTSD symptoms. It’s being used increasingly in integrative and mental health settings around the world.
-
EFT is generally very safe and well-tolerated. It’s a gentle, non-invasive process — but like any form of emotional work, it can occasionally bring up feelings or memories that have been stored beneath the surface.
This is completely normal and often part of the release. You might feel emotional during or after a session, or notice a sense of tiredness as your nervous system shifts into a deeper state of rest.
Most people find these effects are temporary and followed by a feeling of calm, lightness, or clarity. You’ll always be supported through anything that arises, and sessions are tailored to your emotional capacity on the day.
-
Yes — especially when those symptoms are linked to stress, inflammation, or emotional triggers. Many women find EFT supportive for fatigue, headaches, gut issues, and even hormonal symptoms — because when the nervous system calms, the body has space to heal.
-
Absolutely. Hormonal shifts can stir up long-held emotions and increase nervous system sensitivity. EFT can be a powerful tool for navigating these changes with more emotional steadiness and self-compassion.
-
Yes. But EFT isn’t a stand alone weight loss technique — but it can support the emotional drivers that often make weight loss feel difficult. By calming the stress response, addressing cravings, and softening self-sabotage patterns, EFT often helps women feel more at ease in their bodies and more aligned with healthy choices.
-
EFT is a powerful emotional regulation tool, but it’s not suitable for processing trauma, PTSD, or complex mental health conditions. If you’re currently working through trauma recovery, I’ll always recommend working with a trained psychotherapist or trauma-informed mental health professional.
-
That’s completely okay — you don’t need to have it all figured out before we begin. Often, clients arrive with a vague feeling: a sense of being stuck, overwhelmed, reactive, or just not quite themselves.
In session, we gently explore what’s present for you in that moment. The tapping process has a way of revealing exactly what needs attention — without force, pressure, or needing to “get it right.” There’s no such thing as showing up the wrong way.
